Multi-user media server power.
eBay OPEN & TOPSELLER 2025
Foreword
In September 2025, PlusPlusOne supported Neumann & Müller at an exclusive eBay Germany live event, designed and managed by the agency INSGLÜCK, at BrewDog DogTap Berlin. The mission: provide a seamlessly orchestrated media server setup with real-time flexibility, consistency, and reliability.
This time, we brought our full multi-user media server approach to the table.
Two operators, one system: parallel programming meets production
Rather than relying on the old-school “one operator, one system” workflow that often results in brutal 16-hour shifts and last-minute compromises, we deployed a multi-user PIXERA workflow with two director machines logged into the same playout system simultaneously.
This setup allowed us to:
program, fine-tune and rehearse content in parallel without interrupting the main session
maintain full consistency on color codes, naming conventions, content formats and sorting across all shows
keep a backup running at all times
Result: faster programming, fewer mistakes and no late-night panic.
What we brought
Show architecture consulting and technical project support with a focus on multi-user workflows
Parallel programming on a PIXERA multi-user setup, allowing two operators to work on a shared system - with their own director machines, shared content library and consistent logic
Rental of PIXERA licenses
On-site show operation during programming, rehearsals and event execution
Two shows, one system: seamless handling of shared and show-specific content for eBay OPEN and eBay TOPSELLER, each with its own lead programmer - allowing both shows to be built, rehearsed and finalised in legal working hours
One of the biggest wins on this project: we supported not just one, but two full live shows on the same hardware stack - each with overlapping content and different show files. With a multi-user PIXERA workflow, we split the workload efficiently: each of us led programming for one show, working simultaneously on the same playout machines. Shared media and naming conventions kept everything tidy, while parallel rehearsals and finishing touches meant no overnight shifts. Real teamwork, real-time efficiency.
Why multi-user makes the difference
A multi-user session is more than a convenience feature. It’s a fundamental shift in the way complex shows are built and run. It enables true distributed work while keeping everything in sync: from the smallest content update to complete scene reprogramming.
Key benefits:
no redundant file management or versioning headaches.
no need to “hand over” the system between operators.
faster response to last-minute changes.
consistency across the entire show, even when multiple people operate independently.
For us, it’s simply the future of event control - especially in tight programming schedules.
Want this for your production?
We offer both consulting and hands-on operation for multi-user media server setups, including rental of PIXERA systems, project-specific toolkits and custom workflows.
If you’re curious how it could work for your next event: let’s talk or book a demo.
