The Beginning

PlusPlusOne was founded in January 2025 by Thomas Ehrecke and Wieland Hilker - two freelancers who hit the same threshold at the same time: either stay solo and limit what’s possible, or build something bigger, together. We chose the second.

What started in online threads and Discord chats turned into real collaboration. Shared interests in real-time tools, design, and tech turned into shared projects. And eventually, into a company.

What We Bring

Between us, we’ve clocked over 20 years of professional experience - longer if you count the late-night hobby phase. Our combined portfolio stretches from theatre stages to high-end brand activations for names like Google, Nikes, SAP, TikTok, Spotify, YouTube, Porsche, Adidas, BMW and many more.

We’ve done shows where milliseconds mattered and systems simply had to work.

Wieland - formerly operating under the label AlphaMoonbase - is a key voice in the TouchDesigner community, known for building the largest shared component library for the platform and playing an integral role in shaping events like the TouchDesigner Roundtable and TD Berlin meetups. He’s the kind of guy who wires up full systems from scratch and finds elegant ways to solve complex problems with code, frameworks, and modular logic.

Thomas, with a background in design and media technology, is known for operating complex multi-server setups and making last-minute fixes look easy - even on mission-critical shows. He found his way into real-time through Notch when the world paused during COVID, and never looked back.

Together, we cover the full spectrum - from system architecture to UX, from deep code to polished design, from concept to execution. Whether it's a custom UI, a show control system or an entire real-time media production - we believe the tech behind the scenes should run smoothly and look good doing it - backed by a trusted network when the project calls for it.

Why PlusPlusOne

We started this company because we had hit the limits of working solo. Some projects are just too big, too complex - or too good - to do alone. By teaming up, we combined not just our skills, but also our gear. Together, we’re able to offer full-service productions and a growing inventory for rental - something that’s nearly impossible to handle as an individual.

But more than that, it’s about synergy: Wieland brings deep technical architecture, system design, and programming muscle. Thomas adds operational expertise, visual polish, and a sharp design sense. Together, we bridge the gap between creative intent and technical execution - making complicated setups look and feel effortless.

We believe real-time workflows will shape the future of live events. And we want to help lead that shift - with tools, systems, and ideas that actually make sense on site.
